Margaret Bratton, incumbent Board of Finance candidate for Avon

Margaret Bratton, Avon Republican incumbent candidate for Board of Finance, has always taken the action that is best for the Town as a whole to Deliver Results that make Avon an affordable community for all, from young families to senior residents,  and one which delivers necessary services in a financially prudent manner.

Having gone through Avon Public Schools myself and being a parent of three children who are attending our schools, while still having a parent in town, I understand Avon's obligation to all these generations.

As a member of the Board of Finance, I have paid careful attention to remarks made in public and made in confidence by residents and business owners. I balance all of these opinions and suggestions with economic indicators and government legislation at the local, state, and federal levels that impact our town, when forming my Board of Finance decisions for the present and future of Avon.

Both of our town and school executives, along with their employees, have worked well together, especially in the most recent two years of these continuing difficult economic times, to come up with their respective budget proposals that they both presented to our Board of Finance.  This past year especially, our board has found that the town and school proposed budgets have provided both necessary and extra services with a minimum of expense.

Avon's continued Republican leadership has collaborated well with our town and school employees in executing both urgent (storm cleanup and school safety) and long-range (shared services and enhanced education services) planning.

Maintaining Republican leadership will ensure the continuation of our outstanding education system, exceptional quality of life, and prudent financial management that we chose Avon for, all at a low equalized tax rate.
