Phase II Of Avon Water Main Replacement Projects To Begin

Connecticut Water Company projects that were begun this summer on Scoville Road and the Oxbow/Woodhaven neighborhood will be entering Phase II within the next few days. The contractor will be performing a better quality of roadway paving restoration which is consistent with Town paving requirements. The process involves sawing the existing pavement, removing the previous temporary asphalt, and repaving to a higher standard. Saw cutting will start mid-day today (Wednesday, 9/16) and is expected to take four days with paving starting next Tuesday, 9/22. This is necessary so that winter maintenance can be performed and will improve the ride for cars and cyclists. A third stage will be performed in the late spring 2021.
