Work Is Proceeding On Avon Village Center Project
A detour will go into effect on Aug. 24 due to work on new grades for Climax Road which will provide easier access to the new development.
July 29, 2020
The Avon Village Center site work is proceeding along. In the near future, the portion of Climax Road between Route 44 and Bickford Drive will be closed for regrading work. The Police Department has reviewed and approved the road detour system that will go into effect on August 24th. Residents of Bickford Extension will use a newly created route to exit this area and proceed east on Bickford Drive or go north on Climax Road. The public is currently being made aware of this detour by the flashing message boards in the area of the closure. The new temporary roads will allow emergency services access to all residential areas and will allow the developer to create the new grades for Climax Road which will allow drivers to easily access the new development once completed. It is the developer’s aim to end the detours as quickly as possible in advance of the winter season. At the same time work is being pursued on the exterior of the three buildings that are already underway. The exact completion date for these buildings is being finalized at this time. Many specific site details pertaining to landscaping and wall construction still need to be implemented before the winter weather arrives. A significant amount of landscaping will soften the new construction with the intent of making the development look more natural as soon as it is ready for occupancy. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to call the Planning Department at (860) 409-4328.
