Berlin-Peck Says 'Goodbye' To Dewey Decimal System Regarding Non-Fiction
The library later this year is reclassifying non-fiction titles via a more word-centric, subject system as opposed to a numerical one.
BERLIN, CT — The Berlin-Peck Memorial Library recently announced major changes to how it labels and classifies non-fiction books.
"This September, we’ll be switching over to a new labeling system, which we’ve named the Pecking Order," wrote the library, also indicating the pun was intentional

.Essentially, the library is doing away with the old-fashioned "Dewey Decimal System" in favor of a more word-centric method.
The library explains the changes on its website and it is asking folks for some feedback about it.

"We’re hoping this change will make it easier to browse and find books," wrote the library.
