A 23-year-old Bethel resident was struck and killed by a hit and run driver around midnight early Saturday, WNBC CT reports.
According to eyewitness accounts, a dark colored SUV hit the pedestrian near the South Street and Great Pasture Road intersection in Danbury, across from Michaels II Cafe, and drove away.
This is the third hit and run in Danbury week. On Thursday, parents leaving Abbott Tech’s Open House witnessed a dark colored SUV hit a woman and drive away. The victim, Sharon Cera, of Danbury, was taken to Danbury Hospital where she was listed in critical condition.
On Friday a woman hit a blind pedestrian and later turned herself in. The 22-year-old victim, Jairo Abreu, was taken to Danbury Hospital. The driver of that vehicle, Stacie Quinones, is due in court Monday.
The identity of the victim in Saturday’s accident has not yet been released, pending notification of the victim’s family members.
No arrests have been made in this case as Danbury Police investigate. Eyewitnesses to any of these accidents are urged to contact Sgt. Rory DeRocco from Danbury Police Department’s Traffic Division at 203-797-2157.
