According to court records obtained by The News Times, the owner of the home at 11 Governor's Lane where the deadly shooting took place had been trying to evict his tenant for months.

Charles Cristofalo filed a lawsuit in July to evict Thai Pham owed 6 months of rent totaling $2,700, and was supposed to move out on Friday, March 25, the day of the deadly shooting, according to the report.

Police said that Cristofalo, 76, was found dead they responded to a 911 hang-up call. Police also found Ann Cristofalo, 68, and Pham, both with gunshot wounds.

Lead Investigator on the case Lt. Michael Libertini said the two were transported to an Danbury hospital. Bethel Police Detectives are investigating with assistance from CSP major crimes. Their report will not be released until 14 days after the shooting.

"A search warrant was obtained by detectives to search the home for evidence of criminal activity, but police said that the warrant was sealed by a Judge, so no further information about what was discovered, what the motive was, or any additional information can be released until after 14 days from the conclusion of the search," Lt. Libertini stated.

The New Times reported that Pham was in critical condition over the weekend and Ann Cristofalo is expected to survive.
