On Friday, the 23rd of September Congregation B’nai Jacob is proud to present Ron Shaw as the first speaker in the new “Did You Know..? speaker series. Shaw, the former President and CEO from Pilot Pen Corporation of America, will provide an inside glimpse into his dynamic career arc, from his early years as a borsht belt comedian to his role as a corporate leader. The title of his talk is "From the Boards to the Board Room". He will speak following the 6 PM Kabbalat Shabbat service
Ron Shaw retired as President and CEO from Pilot Pen in 2007. He began his career as a salesman for Bic Pen in 1961. Joining Pilot Pen in 1975, he ultimately garnered the skills needed to advance his career and became President in 1986. Under Shaw’s leadership, the company grew from $1 million in sales to just under $200 million. Shaw is one of only 6 Americans ever to serve on the Board of Directors of a publicly held Japanese company. Prior to sales, he was a comedian; an opening act for performers like Dean Martin and Liberace.
