Woodbridge - A memorial event in honor of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh will be held on Sunday, June 19 at 3 p.m. US EST (10 PM Palestine Time) at the Palestine Museum US, which is located at 1764 Litchfield Turnpike, Woodbridge, CT.

Abu Akleh was shot to death on May 11 as she and other journalists were getting ready to observe an Israeli military assault on Palestinians in the Jenin Refugee Camp. The Palestinian Attorney General concluded that she was shot with a bullet from an Israeli rifle. Other international media outlets had similar findings.
The memorial features a portrait of Akleh painted by Luxemburg-based Palestinian artist Jacqueline Bejani painted specifically for Palestine Museum US.
