Woodbridge Police Investigate Recent Burglaries

The Woodbridge Police Department is investigating six (6) recent residential burglaries which have occurred over the past several weeks, with the most recent taking place 11/23/15.

These burglaries have occurred on Clearview Drive, Seymour Road, Ansonia Road, North Pease Road, Alling Avenue, and the most recent on Appletree Lane.

All of these incidents, except for one, occurred during the daytime hours while the homes were vacant. On one occasion the resident was in the basement of the home, heard footsteps upstairs, went to investigate and confronted a suspect in the home who then fled. Entries into the homes have been gained by forcing open doors or windows, and items stolen included electronic equipment, jewelry, and cash. Detectives have recovered some of the stolen articles, and their investigations are ongoing.

With the holiday season fast approaching police are reminding residents to keep their premises secured, utilize their alarm systems, and to notify the Police Department immediately of any suspicious activity or vehicles observed in their neighborhoods.
