Bridgeport Gang Member Pleads Guilty In 2 Shootings: Feds

Jacquon Benejan pleaded guilty to on charges tied to two gang-related shootings, according to federal prosecutors.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport teen has pleaded guilty on charges tied to two gang-related shootings, according to a statement from federal prosecutors. Jacquon Benejan, aka "Blick," 19, faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

According to prosecutors, federal and local law enforcement have been investigating multiple Bridgeport-based gangs involved in drug trafficking, murder, and other acts of violence.

Benejan has been a member of the “Greene Homes Boyz” (“GHB/Hotz”), a gang based in the Charles F. Greene Homes Housing Complex in Bridgeport’s North End. The gang's members and associates dealt heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, and Percocet pills, and committed numerous acts of violence against rival gang members and others, according to the statement.

The gang has been aligned with the “Original North End” (“O.N.E.”), based in the Trumbull Gardens area of Bridgeport, against rival groups in Bridgeport, including the East End, East Side and PT Barnum gangs, as well as 150, which is a geographic gang based on the West Side of Bridgeport.

Benejan pleaded guilty to allegations that Feb. 7, 2018, he and an associate shot and attempted to kill “MJ,” a member or associate of the 150 gang. He also admitted that Oct. 4, 2018, he and an associate shot and attempted to kill “MS,” a member or associate of the East End gang, inside the Greene Homes housing complex.

Benejan also appears in YouTube videos and in social media posts with guns promoting the gang.

Law enforcement also made controlled purchases of drugs from Benejan. A court-authorized search of Benejan’s home in March 2020 revealed two firearms and crack cocaine.

Benejan pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to engage in a pattern of racketeering activity. He is scheduled for sentencing Dec. 10.
