Developer To Buy Vacant Bridgeport Properties From City: Report (patch.com) — Downtown Bridgeport could soon see new housing as developer Douglas Woods moves to buy two vacant city-owned lots on Golden Hill Street for $250,000. Through his Douglas Allen Group, he plans a 30- to 40-unit apartment building on the connected properties, a scaled-back version of an earlier proposal.

Bridgeport Receives State Grant For Recreational Trails Project (patch.com) — Bridgeport is set to receive $180,000 from a statewide $10.5 million recreational trails grant program to plan and design the Old Mill Green Pathways Project. State officials say the investment will expand access to outdoor recreation, support local economies, and improve multiuse trail connections in Bridgeport and other Connecticut communities, especially in distressed and environmental justice areas.

What planners hope it will do (courant.com) — Bridgeport's East End has been officially designated a Martin Luther King Jr. Corridor, a tool city planners hope will attract grants, new businesses, and infrastructure upgrades along Stratford Avenue. Local leaders are pushing for two-way traffic, safer streets, and redevelopment of vacant lots to bring a grocery store, more banking options, housing, and jobs closer to residents while preserving the neighborhood's strong sense of community.

Construction To Lessen Rooster River Flooding Begins (doingitlocal.com) — Major flood-control work is underway along the Rooster River, with Bridgeport helping fund new detention basins at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course and Tunxis Hill Park to slow stormwater and reduce neighborhood flooding. A third phase will tackle sediment removal on river sections crossing Bridgeport and Fairfield properties, with state and federal reviews still ahead before dredging can begin.
