1. Motorcyclist, 28, Killed In Bridgeport Crash: Police (patch.com) — Bridgeport residents are mourning after a 28-year-old local motorcyclist died from injuries suffered in a late-night collision with an SUV on Park Avenue near Suburban Avenue. Police say the driver of the Honda CR-V, also from Bridgeport, was uninjured as crash reconstruction teams work to determine exactly what happened. The investigation, led by Officer Rory Anderson, remains active.
   

2. Bridgeport Man Dies After Single-Vehicle Crash: Police (patch.com) — Bridgeport police are investigating after a 62-year-old city resident died when his vehicle went out of control and struck a wall near Fairfield and Railroad avenues. Emergency crews, including firefighters from Engine 7, extricated the trapped driver before he was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center, where he later died. The Crash Reconstruction Team, led by Officer Nathan Fowler, continues to examine the circumstances.
   

3. Call for Art (ct.gov) — Artists in and around Bridgeport have a major opportunity to sell existing two-dimensional works for permanent display at Beacon Hall on the CT State Housatonic campus downtown, with up to $275,000 available. The Housatonic Museum of Art seeks pieces that reflect Bridgeport and Fairfield County communities, support teaching, and push its collection into the 21st century, with submissions due online by December 15, 2026.
   

4. Bridgeport street fight suspect arrested after allegedly stabbing man (wtnh.com) — Police say a man was arrested Friday evening after another man was stabbed in the arm during a street fight near Iranistan Avenue and State Street in Bridgeport. Officers quickly located the suspect downtown, and the victim was taken to Bridgeport Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury as detectives continue investigating.
   

5. Going 'All In' for the Community (jewishledger.com) — Bridgeport residents can join a charity poker tournament on October 18 at Circolo Sportivo on Park Avenue, supporting the Jewish Federation of Greater Fairfield County and programs aiding Israel and local Jewish life. Organized by Bridgeport attorney Michael Rosnick, the evening includes dinner, drinks, and strategy tips from pro player Kathy Liebert. Entry options range from full evening packages to tournament-only seats, with sponsorships also available.
