Pedestrian Killed In Bridgeport Crash; Police Search For Driver Of Car
The 52-year-old Bridgeport victim was struck by the car on Tuesday at the intersection of East Main and Pulaski streets.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 52-year-old Bridgeport pedestrian was killed Tuesday morning when he was struck by a car at the intersection of East Main and Pulaski streets, according to Bridgeport police. Authorities are looking for the driver of the vehicle.
Rafael Davila was struck and killed at about 10:45 a.m., and witnesses said the vehicle, a dark green Toyota Camry, drove off after the crash.
American Medical Response, Bridgeport Fire Engine E1 and Bridgeport police were dispatched to the scene, and found Davila in the street, unresponsive and bleeding from his injuries. He died a short while later at Bridgeport Hospital, according to authorities.

"The Bridgeport Police Department sends our thoughts and prayers to Rafael Davila's family and friends," said Capt. Lonnie Blackwell in a statement.
Members of the Bridgeport Police Serious Crash Team launched an investigation of the crash, in which they reconstructed the scene and obtained surveillance video. The Toyota was found at an undisclosed location, and was towed to the Bridgeport Police Department Traffic Division for processing.
