Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle, Seriously Injured: Bridgeport Police
A pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Bridgeport, according to police.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night in Bridgeport, according to police.
Police said the male pedestrian was struck around 7 p.m. on Jan. 9 at the intersection of Beechmont Avenue and Springdale Street. The victim was hit by the driver of a 2011 gray Nissan Altima 2.5 traveling southbound on Beechmont, according to police.
The man was in the road walking southbound on Beechmont Avenue, police said.

Police said American Medical Response, the Bridgeport Fire Department and Bridgeport Police all responded to the intersection to investigate the crash and render aid.
The victim was taken to Saint Vincent’s Hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

The female driver of the Nissan Altima remained at the scene and cooperated with police, according to police.
Police said the male passenger was arrested at the scene for an unrelated criminal charge.
