State Police Trooper Struck By Vehicle During Bridgeport Traffic Stop
The trooper and the driver of the vehicle suffered injuries that were not considered threats to their lives. Link to body cam video.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Connecticut State Police trooper was injured earlier this week when he was struck by a vehicle while in the midst of conducting a traffic stop on I-95 in Bridgeport, according to authorities. Click here to view body cam video of the crash.
The trooper, Robert Coyne, was in the right shoulder of I-95 northbound near Exit 30, when a Honda Accord, driven by 35-year-old Bridgeport resident Gamalier Mitchell-Millan, lost control and crashed into him, throwing Coyne over the guardrail and down an embankment.
Coyne and Mitchell-Millan were treated in Bridgeport Hospital for injuries that were not considered to be a threat to their lives. No other injuries were reported.

Mitchell-Millan was issued misdemeanor infractions for failure to meet minimum insurance requirements, failure to maintain a proper lane, and failure to move over.
