BRIDGEPORT, CT — A suspect has been arrested in connection with several off-campus burglaries of rental homes in Bridgeport's North End, largely occupied by members of the Sacred Heart University community, according to police.

In recent months, these properties have been "plagued with a rash" of break-ins, Bridgeport Police Det. Albert Palatiello said in a statement. The number of burglaries and the locations were not disclosed.

Officers identified the suspect, Rajiv Holness, by "using video footage obtained at the scenes," and when interviewed by police, Holness "confessed to committing the burglaries," Palatiello said.
