Volunteers Needed For Jan. 23 Mayoral Primary In Bridgeport: Report

The state is reportedly seeking nonpartisan volunteers to serve at the polls.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas is seeking nonpartisan volunteers to serve at the polls as watchdogs for the Jan. 23 mayoral primary in Bridgeport between Joseph Ganim and John Gomes, the Connecticut Post reported.

Thomas is seeking retired or active attorneys, judges or other legal professionals for the roles, and last week reportedly sent out an "urgent" plea for volunteers.

Just prior to the fall election, the primary was ordered by a judge, after absentee ballots were found to have been mishandled.
