Former Brookfield Schools Finance Director Faces Larceny, Conspiracy Charges

A Danbury man and former finance director of Brookfield Public Schools, Art Colley, 58, turned himself into police on Thursday, according to the News Times.

Patch reported Wednesday that his co-conspirator, Elizabeth Kerekes, 41, of Brookfield, was arrested on Wednesday in a related case. She is alleged to have conspired with Colley in the misspending of more than $30,000 for personal expenses.

Colley was originally charged with larceny and forgery for receiving reimbursement for iPads that were never purchased, but now faces new charges of three counts of first degree larceny, defrauding a public community, one count of conspiracy to commit larceny, and two counts of second degree forgery.

Colley is next due in court on Oct. 27, 2015.
