Danbury Coronavirus: Boughton: 'We Are Flattening This Curve'
Here are the latest, local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Danbury.
DANBURY, CT — In his Wednesday evening news conference, Mayor Mark Boughton said that Danbury is "flattening this curve," referring to the bell curve graph that depicts new cases of, and hospitalizations, for COVID-19.
"Why is that important? It's important because it gives our hospital time to handle the influx of patients," Boughton said.
The Institute for Health Metrics, whose influential coronavirus projection model is used by the White House, predicted Wednesday that the coronavirus outbreak will peak on April 22 in Connecticut, estimating growing death tolls up to 138 per day until the top of that bell curve is reached.
