Juvenile Charged In Chili's Restaurant Shooting: Danbury Police
Police have charged a 16-year-old Danbury resident in the shooting outside a Chili's restaurant in the city earlier this month.
DANBURY, CT — Police have charged a 16-year-old Danbury resident in the shooting outside a Chili's restaurant in the city earlier this month.
The shooting occurred outside the 81 Newtown Road restaurant on Mar. 5. An altercation between two groups of people began inside the restaurant, then moved outside, where one person drew a gun and fired the shots, according to police. No one was injured.
Following some anonymous tips and the recovery of physical evidence, police say they were able to determine the identity of the juvenile who fired the gun.

Police apprehended the teen at his home on Mar. 11 and then transported him to Bridgeport Juvenile Corrections on a remand to custody ordered by the Superior Court Judge, according to Det. Lt. Adam Marcus in a news release.
The suspect was charged with first-degree criminal attempt to commit assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, two counts of second-degree breach of peace, illegal discharge of a firearm and second-degree threatening.

Police say more arrests are anticipated in the investigation, which continues to be active and ongoing.
