Murphy, Senators Call for Investigation of Sober Homes: Report
The move comes less than three months after a 21-year-old Danbury woman died from a heroin overdose at a sober home in Torrington.

DANBURY, CT — Less than three months after the death of a 21-year-old Danbury woman at a sober home in Torrington, Sen. Chris Murphy and his colleagues have made a call for investigations at sober living facilities, reports the Weston Forum.
Murphy, alongside Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Massachusetts), Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida), penned a letter to the United States Comptroller General's Office calling for it to review sober homes in an effort to understand their role in substance abuse recovery. Murphy cited several incidents at Connecticut sober homes in reference to the need for the investigation.
While in recovery at a sober home in December, Kaitlyn Knapp, 21, of Danbury died of a heroin overdose. She was one of two overdose victims who died that day, in cases that police believed were related.
