12/31/12

On 12/31/12 there were six CMED calls. Five of these calls involved the patient going to the hospital but none involved a paramedic unit being dispatched. The six calls involved 3 for a sick person,  1 for a fall, 1 for unconscious/ fainting and 1 for an unknown problem. I am suspicious that  a paramedic unit was not dispatched for even one of these calls. Could it be that Stamford and Norwalk EMS went off the grid for mutual aid because they were experiencing or expecting a heavy New Year's Eve call volume? We will never know but fear the worst. Stay tuned for a Happy New Year unless you have a medical emergency in Darien. Walter Casey.
