Darien Vs. Greenwich Football Game: Rivalry Turns Nasty
T-shirts have reportedly been printed by some Greenwich High School students with "Cardinals vs. Convicts" on the front.

DARIEN, CT — The time for Saturday's state Class LL Championship game between Greenwich and Darien high schools has been moved up to 10 a.m. due to expected inclement weather.
The game still will be played at Boyle Stadium in Stamford; the time change moves the game up by one hour.
The title game is being played against the backdrop of the recent arrests of two starters on the Darien team in connection with an alleged assault of a New Canaan teen.

That incident, which has garnered widespread media attention in Fairfield County, has even led to some Greenwich High School students printing "Cardinals vs. Convicts" t-shirts for the game, an obvious play on the old Notre Dame vs. U. of Miami "Catholics vs. Convicts" rivalry, reports the Stamford Advocate.
Greenwich is 7-7 in state title games, last winning in 2007. Darien is the defending Class LL champion, and the team is 6-8 in championship contests. The rosters for both teams can be viewed here.
