I continue to hear horror stories about Obamacare. Higher premiums, higher deductibles, forced changing of doctors and uncertainty about future coverage are what I am hearing from real people. Also, there is almost no time left in this year and people are busy with Christmas so concentrating on health insurance is made even more difficult. No one is talking about how Obamacare will affect the economy. Because consumer spending is such a large part of the US economy, the higher outlays for health insurance should have a major negative impact on spending. In addition, the uncertainty is likely to last for years. Remember, the corporate mandate has been deferred for a year. I think the intended and unintended consequences are not well understood but I do think we know they will be negative. Stay tuned. Walter Casey.
