Middlefield Family Assisted by Red Cross After Fire

The Jackson Hill Road house fire resulted in a loss of personal belongings.

The American Red Cross is assisting a family of two adults and three children with emergency food and clothing needs after a Tuesday, Sept. 16, fire on Jackson Hill Road. Red Cross team members Sue Parker and Wendy O’Brien responded to assist the family, according to a press release from the Red Cross.

The Red Cross provided comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers. For more information about the Red Cross and how you can help, visit www.redcross.org.
