Strong School Principal Leaving District
Dr. Scott Nicol will take job as administrator with Hartford Public Schools.

In a letter to parents, Dr. Scott Nicol announced Monday that he is resigning as principal of , effective June 30.
Nicol, who has been with the school for six years, has accepted the position of Director of Performance Management with Hartford Public Schools according to the email.
"My six years at Strong have been the most rewarding professional experience of my sixteen year career. Region 13 is a special place. I have found the overwhelming majority of people in Region 13 to be – the salt of the earth," Nicol said in the email.

"Strong School has moved forward [under Principal Nicol's leadership]. He's done a really nice job. It's always tough to lose somebody," Superintendent Susan Viccaro said, adding that she was happy personally for Nicol.
Viccaro said she is in the process of putting together a search committee that will be tasked with finding Nicol's replacement. The committee will be made up of members of the Board of Education, administrators, school staff and parents she said.

Viccaro said she hopes to hire a new principal by July 1.
