Bobcat Shot, Killed After Attacking 3 Women in Colchester Tests Positive for Rabies
Officials had previously suspected the animal had rabies, as it is unusual for a bobcat to attack a human.

EAST HAMPTON, CT - A bobcat that was shot and killed Tuesday after attacking three women in Colchester has tested positive for rabies, News 8 reported.
CT DEEP officials announced Wednesday that the bobcat has tested positive for rabies, according to News 8. Officials had previously suspected the animal had rabies, as it is unusual for a bobcat to attack a human.
DEEP Wildlife Officials say various strains of rabies are always present among mammals in the wild, News 8 reported. Anyone who observes animals behaving abnormally are encouraged to contact police or animal control officers immediately.
