Woman Stopped For DUI at More Than 3X Legal Limit

Middletown Police say a 32-year-old East Hampton resident admitted to drinking five beers then getting behind the wheel.

 

A 32-year-old East Hampton woman is facing DUI charges after police say she drove her car in Middletown at more than three times the legal blood-alcohol limit.

On June 28 at 9 p.m., Desiree Dunbar of West High Street, East Hampton, was stopped for driving erratically on Main Street, according to Middletown Police. The report says several empty bottles of beer were found in her car and she admitted to officers she had drank five beers.

A breath test at headquarters showed she had a .273 blood-alcohol content and the second registered .267, the report details.

Dunbar was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane.

On Feb. 21, 2011, she was arrested for driving under the influence, following too close, failure to drive right and failure to obey an officer’s signal in a work zone.
