EAST HAVEN — The town's high school next week will be a site where folks who need a little help putting food on their tables can get the help they need.

East Haven High School will be a distribution site for the Connecticut Food Bank's Mobile Foodshare program.

At 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, EHHS at 35 Wheelbarrow Lane in East Haven will be a place for folks to pick up nutricious food. Distribution will end at 5 p.m. or while supplies last.

With inflation raging and prices souring, those who were already a bit food insecure are struggling even more as the state tries to recover from pandemic-related economic impacts.

"Connecticut Foodshare is committed to providing nutritious food to people in need. The current situation with COVID-19 is challenging for many organizations, including ours," reads a statement from Connecticut Foodshare.
