East Haven Kids Up To 18 Eligible For Free Summer Meals At Schools
Sodexo Food Service will serve free meals now though Aug. 19, save for Deer Run School, which begins serving meals on July 5 until Aug. 5.
EAST HAVEN, CT —East Haven Public Schools are participating in the federally funded Summer Food Service Program. Under the program, meals are provided free of charge to children 18 years and under.
The Summer Food Service Program, also known as the Summer Meals Program, was established to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. When school is out, SFSP provides free meals to kids and teens in low-income areas.
Sodexo Food Service will distribute the free meals now though Aug. 19, save for Deer Run School which will begin serving meals July 5 through Aug. 5.

The locations are:
East Haven High School, 35 Wheelbarrow Lane. Monday through Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Deer Run Elementary School, 80 Foxon Road. Starts July 5. Monday through Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Overbrook School, 54 Gerrish Ave., Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Momauguin School, 99 Cosey Beach Road. Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to noon.
It's noted that unlike last year, kids have to be there and eat the meals at the school.
