Rotary Club Honors Officer, Firefighter, Awards Student Scholarships
East Haven Rotary Club held its Joseph Buonome Memorial Public Safety Awards & Installation Dinner and presented student scholarships.
EAST HAVEN, CT — After a two-year pause, due to the Covid Pandemic, The East Haven Rotary Club, which is now celebrating its 83rd anniversary, recently held their annual Joseph Buonome Memorial Public Safety Awards and Installation Dinner at Woodwinds Banquet Facility in Branford.
This year the club recognized East Haven Firefighter Captain Gordon Stewart and East Haven Police Officer Anthony Fiorillo. In addition to the installation of the Rotary’s Officers for 2022-23, the club presented scholarship awards to East Haven students.
Police noted that Fiorillo was "recognized for his exemplary service, calm demeanor, strong character and his ability to be a mentor to younger officers in his capacity as a Field Training Officer."

And, East Haven Fire Department Capt. Gordon Stewart was also recognized as firefighter of the year, according to East Haven Fire Chief Matt Marcarelli.
