Janet Harney, 95, involved in Saltonstall/Main St. crash last week has died from injuries.
She had a passion for reading, praying, following hockey, and volunteering, worked in news, healthcare, banking, and retired as a librarian.

Janet Bruno Harney, 95, of East Haven passed away on July 6, 2022 in Yale New Haven Hospital from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Loving mother of Gregory "Greg" (Karen) Harney Sr. of East Haven. Beloved grandmother of Greg Jr., Alexi and Lindsey Harney. Sister of the late Rose DiMassa, Theresa Iannotti and John and Stephen Bruno.
Janet was born in New Haven on December 26, 1926 daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Varone Bruno. She worked in news, healthcare, banking and retired as a librarian and continued to volunteer. Janet crocheted thousands of hats and blankets for hospitals, churches, family and friends throughout her life. She had a passion for reading, praying and following hockey. Janet’s family would like to thank all the first responders and the staff of Yale New Haven Hospital for the exceptional care shown to Janet.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish in St. Vincent de Paul Church SATURDAY morning July 23, 2022 at 10:00. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call at St. Vincent de Paul Church from 9:00 until time of Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital www.st.jude.org
