Retired High-Ranking New Haven Fire Official Hired By East Haven

EAST HAVEN, CT —A decades-long New Haven firefighter, who successfully climbed the ladder to achieve a first-ever, high-ranking position, Jennifer Forslund joins the East Haven Fire Department.

"Congratulations to Jennifer Forslund, who was conditionally appointed by the East Haven Board of Fire Commissioners Monday, as Fire Inspector after a competitive hiring process," Fire Chief Matt Marcarelli said.

In February 2020, she became New Haven’s first female Deputy Chief Fire Marshal. She joined the NHFD in 1997 and was, at the time, one of a very few women firefighters.
