Enfield 2019 Local Elections: Candidates, Polling Places, Hours
Here's what you need to know concerning the 2019 Enfield local elections, including the candidates, polling places, voting hours and more.

ENFIELD, CT — Voters began heading to the polls at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 to vote in Enfield’s municipal election. The positions of town councilors, Board of Education members and constables are all up for grabs.
Polls are open until 8 p.m. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes.
Town Council District Seats

In the first district, the choices for Town Council are incumbent Republican Joe Bosco and Democratic challenger Michael Ballard. In the 2nd District, incumbent Democrat Bob Cressotti is being opposed by Republican Kelly Hemmeler. District 3 incumbent Donna Szewczak, a Republican, is running unopposed, as is Republican Charlotte Riley in District 4.

Seven candidates will be elected to at-large seats, with no more than four from any one party. Incumbents seeking reelection are Republicans Carl Sferrazza, Joe Muller, Lori Unghire and Michael Ludwick, as well as Democrats Bill Kiner and Gina Cekala. Challengers vying for seats are Democrats Cindy Mangini and Jacob Nadeau, Voices for Enfield candidate Colleen Ann Reidy and unaffiliated candidate John Santanella.
Board of Education
Just five of the current eight school board members are seeking reelection: Republicans Walter Kruzel and Chris Rutledge, and Democrats Tina LeBlanc, Scott Ryder and Tim Neville. Candidates for seats on the 9-member panel are Republicans Wendy Costa, Bill Salazar and Jonathan LeBlanc; Democrats Joyce Hall and Steve Niemitz, and Voices for Enfield party members Liz Davis, Monica Wright and Marcy Taliceo.

Polling places in Enfield are:
- District 1 - John F. Kennedy Middle School, 155 Raffia Rd.
- District 2 - Enfield Street School, 1318 Enfield St.
- District 3 - former Enrico Fermi High School, 124 North Maple St.
- District 4 - Henry Barnard School, 27 Shaker Rd.
Connecticut offers Election Day registration, but those who arrive need to be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote. Unlike previously registered voters, standing in line before 8 p.m. to registrar won't guarantee the ability to vote.
