Enfield Gets Support in Latest Girls Basketball Poll

The Eagles dropped from the top 10, but played hard in a loss to nationally-ranked Christ the King at the HoopHall Classic.

ENFIELD, CT — A rare two-game losing streak last week cost Enfield High School a top 10 spot in the latest girls basketball poll of coaches and media members.

Despite losing its second straight contest Friday night in the HoopHall Classic at Springfield College, the Eagles (8-3) gave a scare to Christ the King, the top-ranked team in New York and seventh in the nation. Enfield is at home for a pair of contests this week, hosting Weaver on Tuesday and a showdown with No. 4 RHAM on Friday.

Mercy (10-0) moved into sole possession of first place in this week's rankings.
