Enfield High School Baseball Alumnus Signs With New Britain Bees
The Bees' initial season in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League is slated to open in late May.

NEW BRITAIN, CT — Former Enfield High School baseball standout Kyle Menaker has signed to pitch with the New Britain Bees of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League, a 7-team wood bat summer league with teams in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire.
Menaker, a 6-foot-4, 215 lb. righthander, is a freshman criminal justice major at the University of Albany, a Division I school. He made two brief appearances in February with the Great Danes before the remainder of the spring season was canceled by the America East Conference due to growing concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.
He was a top pitcher during his tenure at Enfield, making the All-CCC team in his sophomore and junior seasons before missing the 2019 campaign due to injury. In 2017, the Eagles' first year in Class LL following consolidation of Enfield and Enrico Fermi high schools, the team won 11 regular season games and two state tournament contests, advancing to the quarterfinals before being eliminated by Ridgefield.

Jay Gaucher, Menaker's high school coach, said, "Kyle has worked very hard to overcome a serious injury to get himself back on the mound and competing at a high level. I am so happy to see he is back on the bump doing what he loves."
Menaker is among 10 homegrown Connecticut products among the 19 players signed to the Bees' roster, joining Christian Fagnant (East Granby), Danniel Rivera (New Britain), Derek Tenney (Wethersfield), Tony Socci (Trumbull), Zach Donahue (South Windsor), Ben Talbot (Newtown), Tim Blaisdell (Wethersfield), Tommy Hughes (Newington) and MacGuire O'Sullivan (Durham).

The Bees are slated to open the season with a home-and-home series against the Worcester Bravehearts, playing on the road May 27 at 6:30 p.m., then returning to New Britain Stadium for a 10:35 a.m. start on May 28.
