Enfield Obituary: Mary Kane, 85
Prior to retiring, Mary was employed by the State of Connecticut in the Department of Public Utility Control for many years.

On Sunday September 23, Mary C. (Cain) Kane, 85, of Enfield, was called home by our Dad, to be with the angels. She was the beloved wife of 44 years to the late John W. Kane (9/8/2014).
Mary was born on November 10, 1932 in Springfield, MA, a daughter of the late William and Helen (Sheehan) Cain; she had resided in Enfield for many years and in Suffield before that. Prior to retiring, Mary was employed by the State of Connecticut in the Department of Public Utility Control for many years. She was very active in her parish of St. Bernard, Enfield, had a passion for animals, Irish music, candy, and was an avid Red Sox fan.
Mary is survived by her three loving children, James W. Kane and wife Kim of East Haddam, Kathy Kane-DiBacco of Enfield and John W. Kane II and wife Shannon of Bristol, her beloved grandchildren, James Kane and wife Allison, Michael DiBacco, Kevin Kane, Carter Kane and Colby Kane; her sister, Rita Carney and husband Richard of Suffield, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Besides her parents she was also predeceased by a brother, Thomas Cain.

Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 with the procession forming at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. to St. Bernard Church 426 Hazard Ave., Hazardville section of Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Enfield.
Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street Springfield, MA 01104-2396.
