Enfield Places in Top 5 of Final Field Hockey Poll
The Eagles won their first 18 contests before falling to Darien in the Class L semifinals.
Last weekend's three state field hockey championship matches were all exciting, with just a one-goal margin deciding each contest. That closeness carried over into the final coaches poll of the season, with three different schools receiving first-place votes.
Class M champion Daniel Hand garnered six top votes to place first in the balloting. Class L titleholder Staples and Class S winner North Branford also collected first-place votes.
Enfield (18-1), which advanced to the Class L semifinals, wound up fifth in the final polling.
