Enfield Police Identify Deceased Man Found In Wooded Area
Police officials believe the death was accidental.

ENFIELD, CT — Police have released the identity of a man whose body was found inside a vehicle in a wooded area off Washington Road late Tuesday morning.
Police Chief Alaric Fox said the man was Todd Crannell, 53, who was believed to be homeless.
An employee of Community Health Resources (CHR) contacted Enfield police Tuesday, stating that an unresponsive individual had been located inside a vehicle in a wooded area across the street from St. Martha's Pond. The man was a client of CHR who had not been heard from in some time, according to a summary by Sgt. Dan Casale.

Upon arrival at the scene, police found the vehicle locked, with the man slumped over the wheel. Officers made entry into the vehicle and determined the person had been deceased for an extended period of time, Casale wrote.
An external heating source had been left on inside the vehicle for warmth, presumably causing a carbon monoxide buildup inside the vehicle. The death appears to be accidental, Casale wrote.
