ENFIELD, CT — An early-morning fire had emergency personnel working for several hours at a 4-unit apartment building on the corner of Alden Avenue and Lincoln Street in the Thompsonville section of town.

The fire was reported at 3:01 a.m., according to Mark Zarcaro, public information officer for the Fire Departments of Enfield.

Flames were contained to the southernmost unit of the building, a 2-story unit at 61 Lincoln Street. The remaining three units, located at 36-38 Alden Avenue, were not burned, but residents were evacuated due to smoke, Thompsonville Fire Chief David Deskis said.
