Man Charged With Murder in 2016 Enfield Homicide
The body of a woman who had been reported missing was discovered in a wooded area behind her apartment complex in October.
ENFIELD, CT — Police have charged a man with first-degree murder in connection with the death of an Enfield woman whose body was discovered in a wooded area behind a housing complex last October.
On Oct. 28, 2016, canine teams from the Connecticut State Police were called to assist in a search for a woman reported missing from the Windsor Court housing complex. The body of the woman, identified as Pamela Cote, was discovered in the woods and based on several factors, her death appeared suspicious, police said.
A suspect was quickly developed and investigation led to him being located in East Hartford and questioned about Cote's death. Investigators were able to establish probable cause charging the suspect, Howard Bowen, 33, with the death. As a result, an arrest warrant was applied for and signed charging Bowen with first-degree murder.
