Raiders, Falcons Return to the Fermi Battlefield: PHOTOS
The annual Enfield vs. Fermi field hockey alumni game was a spirited affair full of competition and camaraderie.
ENFIELD, CT — For the fifth straight autumn, nearly two dozen standout field hockey players from the recent and semi-recent past gathered Saturday at the Fermi athletic complex to take part in the annual Enfield vs. Fermi alumni matchup.
Players ranged in age from 18 to 48, with 1987 Enfield High School graduate Nancy (Rivard) Geaglone again taking honors as the "most veteran" returnee.
Competition was spirited, as renewal of the former crosstown rivalry always brings out the best in the players. That competitiveness was always tinged, however, with underlying tinges of friendship and respect.

The actual final score was immaterial, but it's safe to say it was a happy bunch of ex-Raiders leading the post-game celebration at Chicago Sam's.
Continuing the alternating format, next year's contest will be played at the Enfield High School turf field.
