State Police: Enfield Investigation Still Active

ENFIELD, CT — There is no threat to the public from an active and ongoing state police investigation that closed Moody Road near the local headquarters of the Outlaws motorcycle club Thursday, Connecticut State Police said Friday morning.

The agency declined to say what prompted the investigation or identify any people involved. State police cited the sensitive nature of the case and the need to protect its investigative integrity in declining to release additional information.

Road Closed For Much Of Thursday

Enfield police initially closed Moody Road between North Maple Street and Elm Street, advising motorists to use alternate routes and saying there was no immediate danger to the public. Enfield Police Chief Alaric J. Fox later said the closure was in the area of 33 Moody Road.

Moody Road reopened Thursday evening. Fox told Patch at 7:29 p.m. that the road had reopened “as of a short time ago.”

SWAT Report, Bus Stop Cancellations

An eyewitness told Patch they saw a SWAT team near the site around sunrise. State police did not confirm that detail.

Magic Carpet Enfield canceled the Annex and Print Shop Road stops until Moody Road reopened, telling riders to expect delays.

Motorcycle Club Property

The 33 Moody Road property is the local headquarters of the Outlaws motorcycle club. Patch previously reported on a separate 2021 state police search at the property involving a homicide case. State police have not said whether this week’s investigation is connected to that earlier case.
