State Tournament Play to Open for Enfield, PSA

ENFIELD, CT — Cross country is over, swimming brackets will be announced later this week and football still has three games to go, but four other sports begin their state tournaments over the next three days, with three involving teams from Enfield High School and the CREC Public Safety Academy.

Listed in order of better seeds, here is the upcoming tournament schedule for Enfield teams:

• field hockey (L): Hamden/Amity winner at No. 1 Enfield, Wed., 11/8, 6 p.m.
• girls soccer (LL): McMahon/Cheshire winner at No. 2 Enfield, Thurs., 11/9, 2 p.m.
• girls volleyball (LL): No. 29 Enfield at No. 4 Hamden, Mon. 11/6, 6 p.m.

Here is the schedule for a Public Safety Academy squad:

• girls soccer (S): No. 19 Public Safety/Aerospace at No. 14 Litchfield, Tues., 11/7, 3 p.m.

Here are the records for those teams in state championship game history:

• EHS field hockey: 5-1 (last title, 1994)
• EHS girls soccer: 0-1
• EHS girls volleyball: no appearances
