Winter Team State Championship History: Enfield
Enfield High School teams have won six state titles in winters past, while now-defunct Fermi captured three.
ENFIELD, CT — As practices for high school winter sports officially get underway Monday (girls basketball, ice hockey and wrestling) and Thursday (boys basketball, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a league championship, and possibly a state title.
To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of the six CIAC winter team titles won by Enfield High School in past years, as well as the three captured by now-closed Fermi High School (* - indicates a co-op team).
