• Connecticut student test scores rise in 2025-26, but still trail pre-pandemic levels, new data shows (middletownpress.com) — Essex students helped place their district among just 10 statewide that met Connecticut's 75% goal on the physical fitness assessment, a bright spot in new state education data. Overall, test scores in English, math, and science are rising but still haven't fully returned to pre-pandemic levels, and officials say continued work on attendance and academic support remains crucial.
