Decision Made On Fairfield's Thanksgiving Football Game

Record cold temps are forecast on Thanksgiving.

FAIRFIELD, CT — School leaders have decided to reschedule the annual Fairfield Ludlowe and Fairfield Warde Thanksgiving football showdown due to record-cold temperatures that are in the forecast for Thursday.

“Due to unsafe cold conditions expected on Thanksgiving morning and lack of adequate resources to keep players and staff warm,” the game will be played on Wednesday, Nov. 21, school officials announced in a post on social media. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. at Fairfield Warde High School.
