Prosecutors Drop Bar-Fight Charges Against Staples Wrestling Coach
Prosecutors did not explain why the charges were dropped against both men accused of fighting each other in Fairfield.

Charges stemming from a bar fight have been dropped against David Bernstein, 27, of Henderson Road in Fairfield, who has coached the Wreckers since 2012, WTNH-TV reports.
Bernstein had been charged early on Saturday, Jan. 3, with breach of peace in connection with a fight outside of Anna Liffey’s in Fairfield early Saturday, according to the Fairfield Citizen. He was fighting with Thomas Bajda, 21, of Prospect Drive in Stratford, Fairfield police said, according to the newspaper report.
On Tuesday morning, prosecutors dropped charges against both Bernstein and Bajda. They did not explain why the charges were dropped, according to WTNH-TV.

(The television station report said the fight occurred on Jan. 6, but the Fairfield Citizen report was published on Monday, Jan. 5.)
The two had been arguing at the bar and were asked to leave, according to police. Later, a police officer said he saw them fighting outside the bar, according to the Citizen.
