Farmington Boys Crew Sweeps Litchfield Hills, Guilford
Girls team takes second to Guilford in their races.

The Farmington High boys crew team had a great day against Guilford High and the Litchfield Hills Rowing Club on April 25, sweeping all three races by sizable margins on the 1,200 meter course on the Farmington River in Farmington.
The Indians boys varsity eight won its race in 3:50.43, crossing the finish line just over 17 seconds ahead of second-place Guilford (4:07.74). Litchfield Hills placed third in 4:23.51.
In winning its race in 3:47.54, the Farmington boys second varsity eight boat posted the fastest time of the day, which featured variable winds that made for challenging conditions. The Guilford second varsity placed second in 4:24.79, while the Farmington third varsity boat, racing in the second varsity race, placed third (4:48.42).
In the novice race, the Farmington first and second boats placed first (4:09.69) and second (4:40.31), respectively. Litchfield Hills placed third in 4:46.25.
On the girls side, the Farmington first, second and third varsity eight boats all finished second in their respective races behind their Guilford counterparts.
In the closest race of the afternoon, the Indians first varsity boat crossed the finish line just under two seconds behind Guilford's boat (4:22.09 to 4:20.21). Litchfield Hills placed third in 4:40.59.
The Farmington girls second varsity eight boat was also edged out by Guilford's boat, with the Indians being bested by just over three seconds (5:03.30 to 5:06.85). Litchfield Hills again placed third in 5:48.51.
In the third varsity eight race, the Farmington girls crossed the line in 5:18.17, just behind Guilford's boat, which finished in 5:18.17.
The Indians girls novice eights won its race, however, finishing ahead of Litchfield Hills in 4:50.56.
