Farmington Man Proving Transplant Recipients Can Still be Athletes

George Shi planning on running his second Walt Disney World® Half Marathon with Liver Life Challenge Team.

Everyone agrees that running requires healthy organs. Liver transplant recipient George Shi proves that they do not have to be the organs you were born with.

Shi and his teammates of the American Liver Foundation charity team, the Liver Life Challenge will run the half-marathon, full-marathon, or Goofy Challenge of the Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend presented by CIGNA on January 12th & 13th . Shi and his teammates will raise funds for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease. Shi ran in the half marathon last year and is planning to do the same again.

As an active advocate for the ALF, Shi says he is participating because he wants to raise money and give back to society and the people that are responsible for giving him the precious gift of life that he received. But personally he wants to live a healthy lifestyle and knows that physical exercise is an important part of it.
